Authentic Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1600 produced in 1970 (Biscione model), set up in the Giulia Super Speciale version better known as Giulia Giardinetta by “Carrozzeria Grazia” in Bologna.
Registered in 1971 with civil license plate (Roma H01…) by Autostrade S.P.A. based in Rome and loaned on 8 August 1971 to the Ancona Traffic Police to cover the service at the motorway department where the new Police license plate 415XX will be assigned (we thank Mr. Paolo Masotti for the information provided in the archive historian of the State Police).
After the honorable service, after so many events, pursuits and life stories of that period, (told in a beautiful dedicated book of 139 pages in a limited edition with unpublished photos of Giulia under the Traffic Police, of the discovery and subsequent restoration), goes under concession and subsequently registered in the PRA for circulation for civil/private use; it remained stationary for many years with a mechanic who pampered it and kept it sheltered in a corner of his workshop until 2007 when a well-known Alfa Romeo collector bought it and subjected it to a conservative restoration in full respect of its originality. The engine (AR 526A) was also overhauled in 2007 at the historic and renowned Alfa Romeo workshop. To confirm its authenticity, the engine features the heating device supplied only to the Alfa Romeos of the police forces.
Details: There were only 2 front seats to give greater capacity to the rear compartment intended to contain the ordinance equipment, in fact the rear suspensions were reinforced to support the greater weight. The car was equipped with a front and rear tow hook. The transceiver radio, the blue flashing light, the siren and the various controls of the additional equipment were added. Considering that in many cases police cars had to make quick starts, a heating device (present in our model) had been inserted in the engine head which guaranteed the optimal temperature for maximum efficiency right from the start.

Registered in the R.I.A.R register (Italian Alfa Romeo Register) on 18-08-2007.
Ministerial inspection valid until 30-06-2024.
