Brief presentation:
At the 1955 Turin motor show, Alfa Romeo presented the Giulietta, the car that was supposed to represent the definitive recovery. And success came. Nearly 132,000 will be built at the Portello plant in Milan, impressive production numbers for the time. This car appears on the cover of issue 1 of Quattroruote magazine.

Never before had there been a car so powerful, but also economical in consumption, with exceptional braking and a large boot offered at an overall affordable price. The Giulietta “sedan” shared the mechanics of the splendid and streamlined Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint coupé presented to the public exactly one year earlier in 1954.

In 1959 the updated bodywork of the Giulietta made its debut at the Frankfurt motor show: the fuel tank filler was now inserted into the right rear mudguard and was equipped with a door, the nose was redefined with more rounded mudguards, recessed headlights, new headlight rings and reworked front grille with horizontal bars. The rear fenders had fin ends and new lights with relative reflector. The interior was much more refined and the dashboard featured elongated instruments including the tachometer.
